Jacobs in Australia is part of Jacobs Engineering Group – one of the world’s largest engineering and construction companies.

In late 2011, Jacobs acquired the engineering division of Aker Solutions in Australia and Asia as part of its global growth strategy.


With the business transition from Aker Solutions to Jacobs, significant re-branding and communication was required for the Australian business.

The professional development of Jacobs employees was a high priority for the company and a new Professional Development and Training Manual needed to reworked and rebranded – in a way that was succinct, easy to navigate and attractive to employees.


In her advisory role as Communications Manager for Jacobs, Idaho’s Communication Partner, Jacqui Rudd collaborated closely with the Jacobs HR team to redesign and rewrite the document. Use of white space and images  in the design, combined wth clear, simple language transformed the document from a standard “company training manual” to an attractive and easy to navigate catalogue promoting professional development opportunities for Jacobs employees.
