CLIENT
Troedel-Docucopy
Troedel-Docucopy became the amalgamation of two companies Troedel Printing and Docucopy. The combined company provided digital and offset print services.
CHALLENGE
In a merger or an acquisition, there is always one party that feels like they have been “taken over”.
The challenge in this project was understanding the story behind the merger of the two companies and how it would affect employees of one company in particular, and then persuading the company managers of the need – and value – of timely and open communication with their people. There was also the potential issue of one company knowing more about the merger than the other – creating fear, instability and resentment.
SOLUTION
Frank and detailed discussions were conducted with the company managers to understand the issues around the merger of the two companies and importance of ensuring that empties were kept abreast of developments in a consistent and coordinated fashion. This was so one company did not have “more information” than the other.
A detailed communications strategy and plan prepared for the managers – complete announcement schedules, key messages and talking point assistance and follow up communication activities.
